Lefkada

Lefkada, the Ionian island, located between Corfu and Cephalonia, is widely known for it's award winning beaches ( Porto Katsiki, Mylos, Kathisma), Onasis's island of Scorpios and the art festivals, organized every year.

Beautiful nature, a wonderful blend of the olive green, the sea blue and the rock grey colors gives the visitor a unique opportunity to feel invited to a color, light and life fiesta.

A favorite and easy destination, as it's only 4,5 hrs drive away from Athens. A small bridge connects Lefkada with mainland Greece, making it the only ionian island, where you won't need a ferry boat to reach it. For the visitor who prefers quality vacation, there are daily one hour flights from Athens to Aktion airport, which is 30min from the city of Lefkada

On the east side of the island, up on a hill overlooking the sea, is the village of Katouna. During the 50's it was abandoned by its villagers because the distance from the beach- 3km- was a major obstacle for their occupation, which then it was fishing. This practically kept the village old and traditional style, intact. During the last two decades, many of those houses, have been acquired by new owners, the village is being reborn and is starting to get lively once again. "Katouna", has around 60 residents, an old tavern and 14 apartments that can accommodate 50 visitors. It is an ideal place for anyone wishing to go on holiday and return home, totally relaxed and calm.

Of course, if one wishes to spend some of his holidays in a more intense way, with nightlife entertainment, the cosmopolitan Nydri, and the town of Lefkada offer their restaurants and nightclubs for nights to remember. Nydri is 15 Km and the town about 10 min away.
